Elizabeth Warren:

"There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own"

An August video of Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren on the campaign path is heating up on the net, and a few commentators are pointing to the clip - within which Warren makes a case for progressive economic policies - as proof that the newly minted Democratic candidate may provide incumbent Republican Senator Scott Brown a run for his cash.

In the video (at bottom), that was filmed at an incident in Andover, Mass., Warren rebuts the GOP-touted notion that raising taxes on the rich amounts to "class warfare," contending that "there is no one during this country who got made on his own. Nobody."

Warren rejects the concept that it's attainable for Americans to become wealthy in isolation.

"You designed a factory out there? sensible for you," she says. "But i would like to be clear: you moved your product to plug on the roads the remainder folks procured; you employed employees the remainder folks paid to educate; you were safe in your factory due to police forces and hearth forces that the remainder folks paid for. You did not have to fret that marauding bands would come back and seize everything at your factory, and rent somebody to shield against this, due to the work the remainder folks did."

She continues:

"Now look, you designed a factory and it become one thing terrific, or an excellent idea? God bless. Keep a giant hunk of it. however a part of the underlying social contract is you are taking a hunk of that and pay forward for ensuing child who comes along."

Warren's entrance into the Massachusetts Senate race marks her first-ever political bid - and whereas the longtime shopper advocate is beloved by variety of liberals, some questioned if her lack of political expertise would prove crippling within the contest.

The Washington Monthly's Steven Benen, however, points to the video as a proof on "why Warren features a sturdy base of supporters who adore her."

"If there are lingering considerations regarding whether or not Warren may well be an efficient speaker on the stump, i believe those queries are being answered," Benen writes. "If a lot of Democrats were able to create the case for the underlying social contract as effectively, our discourse would be vastly less mind-numbing."
